ETXexpress=COM Express
ETXexpress is a standard jointly promoted by ADLINK, Kontron and Advantech. ETXexpress represents the evolution of PCI, ISA-based COMs (ETX modules) into PCI Express-based. In the past six months, the PICMG COM Express Committee has worked hard to develop new standards. The committee members are from many different embedded module industries. With the cooperation of these market-leading suppliers and component manufacturers, together with the international PICMG Association's standardization of COM, COM is rapidly and widely accepted in the market. The COM Express size is 95mm x 125mm, and its signal is output by two data transfer, 220-pin, board-to-board connectors that allow up to 5GHz. Through the six mounting holes of the interface, the module can be attached to a customized carrier board that meets individual requirements and can provide shock and impact protection. The heat dissipation section is included in standard heat sinks widely used in other COM. Using COM enables all common PC functions to be implemented in off-the-shelf modules. COM Express is the total crystallization of the latest technology standards (such as: PCI Express, USB 2.0, Serial ATA, LVDS and Serial DVO) built on serial differential signal compact COM. ADLINK's COM Express module ETXp-IA533 has been developed. The new module is based on the 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium® M Dothan processor and its new 915GM PCI Express chipset codenamed Alviso. . The ETXp-IA533 supports the new DDR2 533 MHz memory with an on-board Gigabit Ethernet interface card. In addition to the 16x Graphics Graphics PCI Express slot, up to four PCI Express x1 devices can be connected. This product supports 32-bit PCI, LPC and IDE.
