Double off-harmonic balance frequency discriminator circuit

The double-harmonic balance discriminator circuit is shown in Figure 7-33. There are three tuning loops, and their resonant frequencies meet:

Principle: The output of the dual detuned balanced discriminator is the difference between the two band-pass responses, that is, the transmission characteristic or frequency discrimination characteristic of the discriminator, as shown by the solid line in Figure 7-35. The dotted line is the resonance curve of the two loops. It can be seen from the figure that it can obtain better linear response, less distortion, and higher sensitivity than single-loop frequency discriminator.
