Incandescent lamps will be completely eliminated next year
According to the "China's Roadmap for Eliminating Incandescent Lamps (Draft for Comment)" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, from October 1, 2016, it is prohibited to sell and import incandescent lamps for general lighting of 15 watts or more.
Why do incandescent lamps have to be eliminated? It is understood that most incandescent lamps convert 90% of the energy consumed into useless heat, and less than 10% of the energy becomes light. This is very expensive. As for lighting time, the life of such a lamp usually does not exceed 1000 hours.
At present, under the global situation of vigorously promoting energy conservation and emission reduction and actively coping with climate change, many countries have introduced relevant policies to eliminate incandescent lamps and accelerate the elimination of inefficient lighting products. According to estimates, China's lighting electricity accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption in the whole society. If all the incandescent lamps in use are replaced with energy-saving lamps, the annual energy saving will be 48 billion kWh, which is equivalent to reducing the carbon dioxide emissions by 48 million tons. The phasing out of incandescent lamps will make a positive contribution to achieving energy conservation and emission reduction targets and responding to global climate change.
