Subsidiary LED plant in mainland China is brighter

The Mainland China Development and Reform Commission adjusted the "Energy-saving Products and Benefiting People's Project" supplement this year. For the first time, LED lighting products will be included. In the future, LED lighting may be accelerated (including Jingdian, Yiguang, Dongbei), Edison, New Century and other LED factories. Mainland China has a new direction in its energy conservation and carbon reduction policy. Early this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance jointly revised the “Energy Conservation Product Government Procurement Implementation Opinions and adjusted the subsidies for energy saving products to benefit the people”. This new policy was released in February. LED lighting products will be incorporated into it, and a conservative estimate of at least RMB 100 billion in business opportunities.

The senior director of the LED plant pointed out that at present, local governments in mainland China all have pressure on the implementation of energy-saving and carbon reduction, and they must rely on the strength of LED factories in Taiwan. However, they do not want to be led by Taiwan factories, so most of them are willing to use the right funds. Paying is a big niche for the Taiwan factory.

With the production capacity of most of the first-tier LED makers in Taiwan being tied up, second-tier plants have also begun to benefit, for example, China has won rights funds.

It is understood that there are other LED factories in the future that will also have rights and profits from local governments.

Taiwanese LED factory has been targeting the lighting market in mainland China and has cooperated with related companies of the central and local governments. For example, Jingdian has established a joint venture with a central-level enterprise, China Electronics and Information Industry Group (CEC), in Xiamen, to establish LED Epistar; Century Optronics also cooperates with the Kunshan Municipal Government and expects to benefit.

Huang Panpan, research vice president of Asia Research Institute at TRI Industry Research Institute (TRI), said that the energy-saving products Huimin project was implemented in 2009. LED lighting was added this year to encourage people to purchase LED products in the future. It is expected to obtain the government’s The amount of subsidies and subsidies is 50% in the highest central and 30% in local governments.

Huang Panpan believes that there are various policies on the development of LED in China this year. For example, in late February of this year, the Ministry of Transport initiated a pilot program for low-carbon transportation and started a low carbon province initiated by the Development and Reform Commission last year. And low-carbon city pilots, etc., have significant benefits for LED applications in public vehicles, subways, urban lighting, commercial chains, and hotel lighting.
