Huawei is indeed a large patent application

According to the number of corporate invention patents granted by the State Intellectual Property Office in 2015: Huawei’s patent entrustment in China last year was second only to ZTE in the communications field, ranking third.

Huawei's data shows that as of the end of 2015, Huawei has authorized a total of 30,924 patents, 5,052 US patents, and 11,474 patents in Europe.

The high number of patent applications and the high number of patent grants, said that Huawei is a "big patent", it is indeed worthy of the name.

Chip patent application is the strongest in China

In 2015, Huawei's R&D investment was US$9.2 billion, accounting for 14.2% of its annual revenue.

At the same time, Apple's R&D spending in fiscal 2015 was $8.5 billion, accounting for only 3.5% of its $233 billion in revenue. In the past ten years, Huawei's R&D investment has exceeded RMB 240 billion.

Huawei has 16 R&D centers around the world, with approximately 79,000 R&D personnel worldwide, accounting for 45% of Huawei's total number.

Not only is Huawei focused on R&D and patent applications, but China's chip patents are also growing rapidly.

According to the report “Patent Industry Patent Analysis and Patent Portfolio Quality Assessment” issued by the Asia-Pacific Consulting Department of QUESTEL, France, China’s chip patent growth has been amazing in the past decade, and it has become the largest country in the number of chip patent applications.

In the field of domestic communications, the companies with the largest number of patents are Huawei and ZTE, both of which are typical of high R&D investment.
