In the United States, the LED and other test procedures reported for this time are also very demanding on the conformity assessment and market supervision and inspection procedures for LED lighting products, which will bring huge test cost to Chinese enterprises.

Although the LED lighting market has started, but due to the price, the domestic market demand is insufficient, and most of the products are still exported overseas. Therefore, the improvement of export standards for LED lighting products will have a significant impact on some export-oriented enterprises.

Although for the powerful companies like Letia, the increase in the threshold of export standards will not have much impact on them, but it may not be so calm for other SMEs.

In fact, Europe and the United States have always been the main market for LED exports in Guangdong Province. Relevant statistics show that in 2011, Guangdong's LED exports to European and American countries reached more than 34 billion yuan. Recently, the "encirclement and suppression" from many countries and regions will inevitably have a certain impact on the domestic LED industry.

In this regard, Du Yanxi said that the threshold increase is a double-edged sword. "Probably in the early stage, Letia will suffer more, customers will feel that our price is high, and now the advantage of this piece is reflected." Some small and medium-sized enterprises with weak comprehensive strength have not designed and certified products in strict accordance with international standards in order to reduce costs. Therefore, the improvement of standards will definitely lead to the need for these enterprises in design, material selection and packaging methods. Make the appropriate adjustments to meet the export requirements.

The most direct increase in the threshold for export standards is the increase in costs.

Du Yanxi said that the increase in costs is mainly reflected in the cost of materials and certification. Previously, general general materials were used. Now, materials that have been certified by UL, CE, etc. must be used, which increases the cost to some extent. In addition to the increase in material costs, there is a huge amount of certification fees. According to the reporter, the certification of each type of LED lamps is expensive, such as the UL certification in the United States, the cost is about 100,000-200,000 yuan, and the price of TV certification is higher, up to more than 200,000 yuan.

Such expensive test and certification costs, for companies that can not achieve a certain amount of production, the cost of certification is too high, and there is no profit margin. Therefore, for many SMEs, they are unwilling to spend a lot of money to do international standards certification.

"The improvement of the threshold of the European and American markets is undoubtedly a huge impact on these enterprises." Du Yanxi believes that according to the current market development trend, there are only two ways to force SMEs to go: either withdraw from the market or be acquired by large enterprises.
