Recently, Seoul Semiconductor introduced MJT series products. MJT is a multi-P/N junction technology, and its driving voltage is higher than that of conventional LEDs. The high-voltage LEDs on the market are actually many LED chips connected in series and in parallel, and the circuit design is complicated. MJT uses multi-cell integration technology in the same chip to obtain different voltage values.
Advantages of MJT • The cost is comparable to the price of energy saving lamps.
• Simplify the circuit and increase efficiency, significantly reducing system cost.
• Reduce components and cables.
• Gold wire is not required between LED P/N junctions to avoid various quality problems such as popcorn effect.
• Very effective for applications with size limitations, such as A19 bulb applications that minimize circuit up to 30%.
• Multiple voltage suitability for only one chip.
• LED multi-core quantities can be optimized for voltage and efficiency needs.
• Easy to design applications from AC to DC operation.
• Cost comparison for 8w bulbs with an efficiency of 88%
- 100mA DC LED for 8W applications: 28 chips + power supply - 20mA MJT for 8W applications: 21 chips + power supply (30% component reduction)
-> Less LEDs -> Circuit Simplification -> Smaller Size -> Lower Cost
Seoul Semiconductor specifically pointed out that the company's products have: • Prepare various reference circuits as needed.
• The MJT5630's LM80 test will be completed in October.
• There are no patent issues.
• Design mainstream packaging types for customers, such as 5630, 3528, etc. for customer convenience.
• 2700 ~ 6500K (ANSI Bin) color temperature range with a minimum color rendering index of 80.
