The cable identifier consists of a signal generator, a receiving clamp and a signal detector. The signal generator mainly generates a special pulse modulation signal, which is added to the tested cable that stops running through the output line, and is used to find the measured device with the receiving clamp. In the cable, when the receiving tong detector detects a special signal applied to the cable, the signal detector pointer of the signal detector oscillates synchronously with the frequency of the applied signal, while the signals detected on other cable lines are much smaller and opposite directions, indicated by the electric meter. The amplitude and direction make it easy to determine the cable under test. When the receiving clamp and the signal detector are used in combination with the signal generator, they can be used for cable charging state discrimination or assisting in finding the cable short-circuit position.
