Domestic Blu-ray companies push 3D players to accelerate adoption

On the 8th, 27 Chinese and foreign companies on the Blu-ray DVD industry chain jointly released a number of hardware and software products in Beijing.

Local companies that previously had little experience in Blu-ray technology have also released a number of new products. Desai, Huge, Hualu Xin produced, Hualu Panasonic, OPPO, Shida, Marantz and other seven companies brought 13 new Blu-ray products, 10 of which are 3D players.

In terms of content, Hollywood content providers such as Disney, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros., as well as China's largest Blu-ray content producer, China Hualu, also released the latest Blu-ray Disc program.

As the next generation of high-definition DVD global standards, a single-layer Blu-ray Disc currently has a storage capacity of 25G, and a single-layer Blu-ray Disc can reach 50G. But in the Chinese market before, Blu-ray promotion was not ideal. On the one hand, the price of Blu-ray players was too high, and one machine had to be between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan; in addition, the price of Blu-ray high-definition discs was not low.

However, the popularity of Blu-ray products in the Chinese market has accelerated significantly in the past year. At present, there are 75 Blu-ray players and more than 470 Blu-ray movies on the market. The prices of disc players and discs are declining.

According to relevant analysts from Ovid Consulting, the sales volume of full-HD TV in China reached 15.19 million units in 2010. It is expected that sales of 3D TVs in the Chinese market will reach 5.7 million units in 2011. Blu-ray disc players are the preferred platform for providing more high-definition content. In 2011, the ratio of Blu-ray players supporting 3D was 63%."
