Serial presence detection

With the continuous improvement of the processing capability of the display card, the power consumption and heat dissipation of the integrated chip on the display card have also increased dramatically. In April 1999, the Accelerated Graphics Port Implementors Forum released the AGP Pro 1.1 specification. AGP Pro is designed to provide additional power for a new generation of graphics accelerator cards, providing better performance for high-end workstations. AGP Pro's main content includes the extended AGP interface, thermal insulation, improved input/output brackets, fixed end brackets, interface to the graphics accelerator card, and design requirements for the new layout of the motherboard. The AGP Pro extends on both sides of the original AGP slot to provide extra power. It is used to enhance rather than replace the functionality of an existing AGP slot. According to the different energy available, AGP Pro can be subdivided into AGP Pro110 and AGP Pro50. Energy consumption is 25W ~ 50W AGP Pro graphics accelerator card is called AGP Pro50 graphics card, energy consumption is 50W ~ 100W AGP Pro graphics accelerator card is called AGP Pro110 graphics card. They all need extra space to dissipate heat, so they take up space next to the PCI slots. The AGP Pro50 graphics card requires sufficient cooling space on its front side, so it occupies a PCI slot next to it. In the output interface part of the graphics card, a two-bay wide bracket is used to ensure dedicated space for heat dissipation. The AGP Pro110 graphics card must be freed of two adjacent PCI slots, and a three slot wide bracket is installed on the display output of the graphics card to ensure its dedicated space. Intel made the following arrangements for AGP Pro compatibility: Normal AGP cards can be plugged into AGP Pro slots, but in turn, AGP Pro cards cannot be plugged into regular AGP slots.
