Guo Kezun resigned from Motorola to AMD in 2002. During his tenure in office, Guo Kezun brought a huge boost to AMD's business in the Greater China region.
During his tenure as Guo Kezun, AMD has established strategic partnerships with major domestic computer manufacturers such as Shuguang, Lenovo, Tsinghua Tongfang, Tsinghua Unisplendour, Founder, and Digital China, and has also strengthened its business with multinational companies such as Dell, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Sun. In 2005, AMD Greater China headquarters was established in Zhongguancun. In the same period, AMD also transferred processor technology to Peking University.
