Cree New Director: Robert Ingram
Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) announced the election of Robert Ingram, vice president of pharmaceuticals at Glaxo Smith Kline, to the board of directors of the company, to the Compensation Committee and Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors, effective December 29, 2008.
Ingram, 65, has served as Vice President of Pharmaceuticals at GlaxoSmithKline since January 2003. Glaxo Smith Kline is based in the Research Triangle Technology Park in North Carolina, USA, where he is involved in drug research and development. After the merger of GlaxoWellcomeplc and SmithKline Beechamplc in December 2000, Ingram served as Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of Pharmaceutical Operations at Glaxo Smith Kline. Prior to the merger, he served as CEO of GlaxoWellcomeplc and chairman, president and CEO of Glaxo Wellcome Inc. He also served on the boards of LowesCompanies, Inc., Allergan, Inc. and Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, and he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and as Chief Director of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International.
