1. George W. Hansen
George W. Hansen
He is an American Danish who served in Labrador Island during the Second World War, and before that he worked in the interior decoration field. During his service on Labrador Island, he designed the very famous Swing-arm luminaire, which was originally made in the United States. In 1966, as if the hit was already destined, Antonio Riera met George Hansen on a trip to New York, and he proposed to George Hansen to make his product at Metalarte. George Hansen visited the Metalarte factory in Barcelona. He was very surprised by the excellent quality of the Catalan (Spanish) manufacturing industry. He readily agreed with Antonio Riera's proposal. The only condition was that it could only be used exclusively. Riera, the US city, began to air 500 luminaires a month. After a few years, Metalarte was licensed to promote it in the global market. Today it is one of Metalarte's most successful products.
