iSuppli: Global LED sales will reach $14.3 billion in 2013


ISuppli, a technology research and development agency, published a research report on the 14th, saying that global retailers are actively promoting indoor and outdoor LED lighting applications by the end of 2009. It is expected that global LED sales will increase by 10.9% in 2009. It reached $7.4 billion and climbed further to $14.3 billion in 2013. In comparison, global semiconductor sales in 2009 are expected to decline by 12.4% annually.

iSuppli pointed out that in addition to general lighting, the proportion of LEDs used in cars, traffic signs, street lights, small LCD screens and mobile phone keyboard backlights, personal navigation devices, digital photo frames and digital cameras is gradually increasing, while LCD TVs and notes The emerging application market for PCs, monitors and personal lighting devices has also led to the further expansion of LED growth.

The agency also expects sales of standard-brightness LEDs to decline by about 2.3% in 2013, while high-brightness LED (HB-LED) sales will increase by 6.7% to $5.4 billion. In addition, sales of high flux LEDs in 2013 will increase by nearly 53% to $7.8 billion.
