50 states in the United States start using "the world's first robotic lawyer"
According to foreign media reports, 50 states in the United States have started using chat bots that provide free legal advice through artificial intelligence (AI) from Wednesday. The chat robot was developed by British inventor Joshua Browder, which Browder called "the world's first robotic lawyer." Previously, this robotic lawyer has successfully tested in New York, Seattle and the United Kingdom.
Browder expects the robotic lawyer to help handle about 375,000 parking ticket appeals in two years. Browder said: "The legal industry is an industry with a total income of more than 200 billion US dollars, but I am very happy to make the law free. Some large law firms are unlikely to be happy!"
Browder believes that his chat bot can also save time and money for government officials. He said: "Everyone can win. I think the government is wasting a lot of money and hiring people to read the parking ticket appeal case. DoNotPay sent them in a clear and easy-to-read format."
Browder speeds up DoNotPay development by creating a tool to quickly drag and drop documents. He then recruited volunteers and part-time lawyers to help him deal with the legal issues of the tool. In order to deal with the differences between different national laws, he had to work with lawyers and charities to launch a local chat bot and detect the user's location only to show the relevant local bots.
The user can enter some questions, such as "I receive an unfair parking ticket", the robot will convert the information entered by the user into a legal sound file, and then based on these questions and sound files to determine whether there is a basis for appeal, and then Generate an appeal letter that can be signed and printed for the user.
