Actively implement the concept of low-carbon life on the 31st

At 20:30 on March 31, global light-out activities for one hour will come again. The global environmental event, initiated by the World Wide Fund for Nature, calls on people to turn off the lights for an hour on the last Saturday night in March every year. Since 2009, 88 cities and more than 7,600 enterprises in China have registered to participate.

According to statistics, each household lights out for one hour, which can save about one kilowatt hour. This may be insignificant in protecting the environment. However, the significance of this activity is to promote people's awareness of environmental protection and guide people to practice the concept of low-carbon life.

Low-carbon and environmental protection is a way of life. It is also an attitude of life. The main body of practice is human beings. Low-carbon life does not return to the ascetic like life, but it requires people to change their habitual lifestyles and consumer attitudes, start from scratch, and actively participate in practical actions to save resources and reduce pollution. For example, turn off the power when you don’t use your computer for a long time, use public transportation as much as possible, choose simple packaging for purchasing goods, avoid low temperatures in summer, and so on.

Energy saving and environmental protection are expensive. Only consciously willing to live in low-carbon life, over time, life style and lifestyle can be greatly changed.

Low-carbon life can not be separated from the efforts of the majority of companies. Advocating the development of a low-carbon economy and green economy based on low energy consumption, low emissions, and low pollution requires enterprises to better assume social responsibility for environmental protection. The production-oriented enterprises must continue to improve the efficiency of resource utilization through various means such as technological innovation, institutional innovation, industrial transformation, and new energy development in accordance with the energy conservation and emission reduction standards formulated by relevant departments. Turning off the lights for one hour provides an opportunity for us to implement the concept of low-carbon life.
