Texas Instruments (TI) today announced the launch of the SimpleLink GPS CC4000 solution, TI's first widely available GPS solution, further expanding the product line of easy-to-use SimpleLinkTM connectivity solutions. This stand-alone module minimizes complexity while adding GPS functionality to the product. For example, one-button positioning can be controlled by a single general purpose input/output (GPIO) hardware, and the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) data string containing location, time, and speed information can be received simply by turning on the GPIO. The SimpleLink GPS CC4000 solution not only works with any microcontroller (MCU) or microprocessor (MPU), but also supports very small sizes of less than 100 square millimeters.
