Hon Hai Group has previously invested in the US Micro LED industry eLux, and has been looking for Sharp, Innolux, and Rongchuang to participate in eLux. Statistics show that Innolux and Rongchuang hold 13.64% and 9.09% respectively, highlighting Hon Hai’s chairman, Guo Taiming, who is highly dependent on Innolux and Rongchuang’s development of Micro LED.
The industry has judged that Apple and Hon Hai Group will work closely together, and Innolux and Rongchuang will play a leading role. Rongchuang is an important LED-to-investment company of Hon Hai Group. In cooperation with Group Resources, it cooperates with panel customers such as Innolux and Sharp to actively develop Mini LED backlight panels. In addition, Rongchuang has also won two directors of Guanghao, highlighting the key position of Rongcheng in the layout of Micro LED in Hon Hai Group.
The industry believes that with Samsung, Sony and other major manufacturers have displayed Micro LED related concept products in 2018, Samsung even spread the hope to mass-produce the ultra-large size Micro LED TV, driving more manufacturers to invest in development.
