The system overcomes some deficiencies of traditional laboratory training through AR technology. For example, the method electronically adjusts the visual input of the real environment through computer programs, so that visual adaptation training can be integrated into daily life. In this way, the patient does not need to spend time to the designated research institution for treatment, nor does it prevent them from viewing the real scene because of long-term viewing of specific experimental stimuli, thereby affecting learning, work, and life. The research team measured and tracked the rebalance effect of both eyes based on binocular competition tasks. The experimental results show that in the 3-hour daily, 5-day training period, normal adults with unbalanced eyes perceive that the ratio of the grating length from the strong eye to the weak eye gradually approaches; The proportion of perceived duration of the two eyes becomes closer as time goes by; this effect reaches a maximum in two months after the end of training and can still be observed in four months. The study group also used a similar training procedure for 18 patients with amblyopia. The patient had visual acuity improvement in amblyopic eyes with 1.5 lines (logMAR). In another group of subjects, the research team tested the effects of six different visual tasks except for binocular competition on the effects of adaptive training. It was found that this adaptive training significantly changed the performance of eye movement consistency, visual acuity, Ebbinghaus illusion and interocular phase integration tasks.

The study found that "in the two months after the training, the subjects lived in a normal visual environment, the eye dominance continued to become more balanced" phenomenon is the first report in the related research field, and it is also the first time that our country's scientists have established visual plasticity.
